When I saw ’Manila’ I was excited because I thought the magazine would be featuring the design scene here. It was not the design that I was expecting but an article about the art that millions of Filipinos have mastered for several decades. It takes a lot of guts to travel across the world and take care of people you don’t know, all for the ones you have left behind. 

After reading this article, I gained more admiration to the Filipinos I see when I travel out of the country. Those that work hard in countries that serves as travel destinations for some of us. They try to blend in at times but will always stand out for their laughter, spirit, and the quintessential Filipino smile.
